Hunter attended Spearfish High School with the Class of 2020. He spent his entire life with surgeries, doctor visits, and after organ failure received a heart transplant at Mayo Clinic. Throughout all of that hardship he never lost his laugh and smile. He sadly passed away April 2019 during his two year transplant appointment and we needed to honor his memory. The Hunter Tillman Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that provides scholarships in remembrance of Hunter. We give to students who are entering the Medical field or Special Education field. We have met so many great nurses, doctors, caregivers, teachers, therapists, and more that greatly impacted our hospital stays and Hunters school career. They are truly some of the most unsung heroes in our communities. We need more high quality young people entering the fields of medicine and special education to be able to help families in the future like they have helped ours. Medical Professionals and Special Education Teachers all too often do not get the credit they truly deserve. What they do is nothing short of extraordinary. They are saving lives, saving hopes for the future, and saving families. On a daily basis, they are not only caring for the health of their patients and the education of students, but they are also creating reasons to smile, making conditions as suitable and pleasant as possible, and forming connections with their patients or students who not only need them, but depend on them. We are so thankful to be able to present these scholarships to amazing graduates, they deserve nothing less.
Your contribution and support will help us in our efforts to award deserving students. We are very grateful for your generosity.
